When we look in our history book we see that most women have very flawless skin, and we wonder, how can they look like that, if women in this time can only look like that with makeup? Well the answer is, They also used makeup. Since ancient times women from all over the world have used makeup. In Egypt men and women used black eyeliner and perfume. The Greeks used white lead as foundation, which gave them a very pale complexion; Pale skin was very popular until 1978, when the tanning bed was invented. During the middle Ages, it's actually a myth that people were very dirty or at least the elites weren't. Women found in this era used vegetable dye as blush to redden their cheek and also to dye their hair. By the 16th century women were carrying mirrors made out glass or steel. In 1784, The Toilet of Flora was published and it was a book on how to put on makeup. During the 19th century people disapproved women wearing makeup, however by the 20th century makeup was sold more often. In 1913 mascara was invented and 2 years later lipstick was sold in tubes with push up sticks. In, 1916 false eyelashes were invented by D.W. Griffith, a film director. In the 1930's lip gloss was invented and sold to the public in 1932. As the time moves, so does the improvement of the makeup. (lambert)

Makeup can make women look like ambrosia but sometimes they take it over the overboard and it's gets to the point where your at awe. Majority of men are not attracted to women who wear a Mardi Gras mask over their face every single day. 1 out of 5 men wished that their partner would wear less makeup and 1 out of 10 say they would like their partner to not wear any makeup at all. Half of these men had express their feelings about toning down the makeup to their partner, however, 1 out of 10 were dumped very soon. 12 percent of women admit that they do wear too much makeup, and the cause of this is that they don't feel comfortable enough in their own skin. 23 percent of women cover up their lack of confidence with makeup. In Japan research has shown that women put on makeup for self approval or pleasure. When women look into the mirror without makeup, they assume they will look like that in front of people. What they see in the mirror is a disapproval to them. In the brain Dopamine's are released which releases pleasure. The women imagine how they will look in the mirror when they have makeup on. This make women feel much better, and also has an expectation for themselves. As long as they approve what they see in the mirror. (ANI
