The movie “Il Postino” was very interesting movie. The storyline is that Mario a poor fisherman's son who become a postman, delivers mail to the famous Pablo Neruda, and they become friends despite the class statues. Along with a little romance the Mario finds with the help of Pablo.
The theme of love in this movie, is the love of friendship at the most. The bond that Mario and Pablo Neruda had showed was really strong. It was a bit difficult to understand if Pablo Neruda actually cared about him as a friend or not. When he came back to meet Mario, if came after a long time and it seemed liked he realized how important their friendship was after a few years and after his death. Mario still felt that he and Pablo were friends even though everyone said that Pablo Neruda had forgotten them.
The theme for society was that it doesn't matter about what your rank is in society. It is basically explaining that it doesn't matter where you stand, you can get along and be friends with anybody, their human beings just like everyone else. Pablo Neruda was a famous poet and Mario was a postman; still they got along not mattering about what their class was. The lower class wore dark colored clothing and the upper class wore light colored clothing. This has caused a division between the two classes and caused them from knowing each other well enough.
The theme of poetry is that poetry can be written by anyone. Pablo Neruda helped Mario write a poem. Mario had not understood how poems were written, and didn't know what metaphors were. After he learned the basic's on writing a poem he wrote a poem for the girl he loved. Most people didn't understand his poems or misunderstood them.
I like this movie because it is very loving in a way. All the characters were very caring to one another which makes the movie seem very happy. However, the mood of the movie increased and decreased , but still it was very interesting. The ending specially was sad , but still I could see that his wife was still loved him very much which I said makes this a very loving movie.
