It's time for work and Mr. Johnson is getting ready. His wife is still asleep but he didn't want to leave without telling her goodbye. He takes the covers off of her head … he's jumps back against the wall out of breath and grabs the umbrella next to him. He points it at his wife saying, “Who are? Why are you in my bed? Where is my Wife?”. Mrs. Johnson wakes up startled, “sweetheart what are you talking about?”, Mrs. Johnson says. Mr. Johnson find her voice familiar and stares at her for a moment to figure out who she was. “What happened to your face? Did you get plastic surgery without telling me?”, Mr. Johnson exclaimed. Ms. Johnson looks confused, “I'm fine, I didn't get plastic surgery. I just didn't put enough makeup on. I forgot to put on my lip gloss. Why?” Mr. Johnson stare silently in awe, and a few minutes later he walks quickly out of the house. Was his wife's face that different?

Concealer round around the eyes, creamy foundation stick to the face, then another layer of powder foundation, wild eyeshadow cover the top layer of the eyelid and an option of eyeliner, mascara clumping on the eyelashes, blush brushed onto each cheek making it look like two tomato's, and last but not least the maple syrup lip-gloss. Every morning women wake up and put on several layers of makeup. Obviously to hide their flaws, and to put on the face of “beauty”. Apparently 3 layers of foundation isn't enough to cover the face, nor is 10 boxes of eyeshadow is enough to be applied every morning.

There is always a limit to something and women don't think there is for makeup. The amount of makeup women put on, makes their face like a broken magnet that repels instead of attracts. The majority of men are not attracted to women who put on so much makeup. “It looks as if a cosmetics avalanche has happened when I look at my wife's face and some woman’s face. ” said Mr. Johnson. Now some men even question themselves, “why did I marry her?” or “Why is she still my girlfriend?” or “I just saw a poster of a up coming circus show, and the makeup the clown on the poster was wearing is the same type of makeup my wife wears. Is that her?”.

The really funny part of makeup is that billions, yes billions of dollars are wasted on the skin damaging, overly priced, small amount of makeup. Billions of dollars wasted to make women look like circus freaks everyday. That's just fabulous! It's better than donating it to charity or help the people who don't have food or water.

I know women have a fully functioning brain, but it tends to turn off when the topic of makeup comes along. Now women these days carry 3 mirror in their purses, just in case the mirror breaks when they look into it. Also maybe some new electronics, like a phone, camera, and a laptop. When electronics have to save picture of them, they tend to have a seizure. For this to not happen, women need to take off not a little, I'm not talking about just the first layer of mascara, I mean 80% of it. Day by day, women's creativity are getting scarier, using makeup to make up their faces, and Ms. Johnson should soon realize this. Hopefully, Mr. Johnson comes back home, he's been missing for 3 weeks.

Reflection

The reason I chose this topic because it a very common topic. The majority of women are always using makeup. In my opinion I don't necessarily dislike makeup however, I do not approve to much makeup. I myself wear very light makeup. I believe makeup is to enhance your beauty not to give a completely new face. My satirical argument I'm making is that women now use to much makeup, to the point that they look like a clown with bad plastic surgery. I chose this topic because every morning when I walk into the girls restroom, there are several girls put on more makeup than necessary and I feel like their wasting their time; I think they look much prettier without the makeup. I used hyperbole, euphemism, and pun in my satirical news article. I used these humor devices to make a point, and the point is that women wear to much makeup and it causes further problems now and later in life for women.

Every morning women wake up and put on several layers of makeup. Waking up and hour early to put on a “flawless” face which I rather call flawless and fake. It really questions me, what enjoyment do women get out of looking like a clown every morning? With makeup women are hiding themselves behind masks. “I will literally die if I don't put on my makeup!” said a female teenager. Does this sound absurd to you?

I know women have a fully functioning brain, but it tends to turn off when the topic of makeup comes along. Yes, women don't look like anything like themselves with makeup. What most women don't think about is what makeup can do to your skin. Makeup only makes women look like there face is “perfect”, but underneath that is the real face. Over time, makeup makes the skin sag and accelerate acne on the face. Proper cleansing helps but the affect of makeup is still there. “I have a lot of adult acne and I have to use a lot of makeup to cover the acne up.”, said a women. Also certain makeup can cause damage to the skin such as: allergies, skin sagging, and reproduction of toxic. Instead of putting more makeup on top of the acne, they should use less.

Millions, no …, Billions of dollars are wasted each year from buying makeup. The cosmetic company's are swimming in money everyday. Instead of wasting money on cosmetics, women can save some of the money and use it for other things they need. If that much money was saved it could have been used for: paying the bills, healthy food, even a good pair of shoes.

The amount of makeup women put on, makes their face like a broken magnet that repels instead of attracts. The majority of men are not attracted to women who put on so much makeup. “It looks as if a cosmetics avalanche has happened when I look at some woman’s face. I would like to see more of their face rather than the mask they wear.” said Howard smith. The masks women wear are complete turn offs or they are somewhat attractive. It really does depend the amount of makeup wore. “ What makes women even more of a turn off is when they go on YouTube and look up makeup tutorials that give tips to make them look better.” Women use makeup to make up the face they have. It makes women feel good about themselves, but it seems like they didn't look in the mirror. Women need to tone down the makeup and just be themselves because true beauty lies in the person.

When we look in our history book we see that most women have very flawless skin, and we wonder, how can they look like that, if women in this time can only look like that with makeup? Well the answer is, They also used makeup. Since ancient times women from all over the world have used makeup. In Egypt men and women used black eyeliner and perfume. The Greeks used white lead as foundation, which gave them a very pale complexion; Pale skin was very popular until 1978, when the tanning bed was invented. During the middle Ages, it's actually a myth that people were very dirty or at least the elites weren't. Women found in this era used vegetable dye as blush to redden their cheek and also to dye their hair. By the 16th century women were carrying mirrors made out glass or steel. In 1784, The Toilet of Flora was published and it was a book on how to put on makeup. During the 19th century people disapproved women wearing makeup, however by the 20th century makeup was sold more often. In 1913 mascara was invented and 2 years later lipstick was sold in tubes with push up sticks. In, 1916 false eyelashes were invented by D.W. Griffith, a film director. In the 1930's lip gloss was invented and sold to the public in 1932. As the time moves, so does the improvement of the makeup. (lambert)

Makeup can make women look like ambrosia but sometimes they take it over the overboard and it's gets to the point where your at awe. Majority of men are not attracted to women who wear a Mardi Gras mask over their face every single day. 1 out of 5 men wished that their partner would wear less makeup and 1 out of 10 say they would like their partner to not wear any makeup at all. Half of these men had express their feelings about toning down the makeup to their partner, however, 1 out of 10 were dumped very soon. 12 percent of women admit that they do wear too much makeup, and the cause of this is that they don't feel comfortable enough in their own skin. 23 percent of women cover up their lack of confidence with makeup. (daily Mail reporter)

In Japan research has shown that women put on makeup for self approval or pleasure. When women look into the mirror without makeup, they assume they will look like that in front of people. What they see in the mirror is a disapproval to them. In the brain Dopamine's are released which releases pleasure. The women imagine how they will look in the mirror when they have makeup on. This make women feel much better, and also has an expectation for themselves. As long as they approve what they see in the mirror. (ANI

Dear Diary,

24/7 I have to watch Tita and Pedro – it's frustrating – why doesn't Tita understand? Pedro is now Rosuara's husband, and she needs to stay away from him. Tradition must go as tradition goes. My little sister had to take care of our mother and that is her place. I don't want Rosuara to go through the same thing as I did. Pedro has to give Rosuara her rights: her right to be his wife, her right to be loved, and her right to be a mother. My husband and my little sister also love each other; I was in the same shoes Rosuara is in; I fought for his love until … but he still didn't have any space in his heart for me. I thought our children represented our love – my two daughters – I never saw the love in his eye's. I think what is best for Rosuara and Pedro is that they should be sent away. However, if they are sent away, I will be away from my grandson. Rosuara is still weak and can't take care of herself. Something must be done to separate Pedro and Tita. I have to get rid of Tita's love for Pedro, there must be a way for me to do that, what plan would …

Ryan O'neal would a be labeled a narcissistic person. When Farah Fawcett was fighting against cancer he had a very narcissistic attitude towards her. He disliked the fact that more attention was going towards her. He also used his battle with leukaemia in 2001 to get the attention back to him.  His son Griffin O'neal accuses his father for only staying with Farah Fawcett to be part of her will.  Ryan O'neal also said, "No I'm dying. You're not dying. I'm dying." referring to Farah Fawcett and all the attention she was getting. He would really be the most selfish narcissistic person.

A dream seen which was chimerical to dream of
the only thing what the sculptor wanted was love
yes indeed an absurd thing to think
along with a perfect face that makes you sink,

and melt to the ground
she wasn't the diamond the blended into the background
 flawless and speechless beauty
however, lifeless and never to be

A frozen life like in a photo
stood the ivory stone while you watched it from below
come to life and breathe
if it was possible he would believe

slow movement were created from each part of her body
her stone lips filled with a strawberry
She was alive, and the onyl word that came to mind was impossible
happily the became one, to him there was no other angel

Shyness Begone

A review of Painfully Shy by Barbara G. Markway, Ph. D & Gregory P. Markway Ph. D

Walls surrounding them, blocking them away from the outside world. These walls were created with their minds. My book Painfully shy is about how to overcome social anxiety and shyness. There are methods and stories that help the reader understand that there is a way to over their shyness. The book Painfully Shy teaches readers how to break away from their shyness and be a stronger person with its step-by-step structure that helps readers along with techniques and interesting facts.

In reality I am very shy, but not like the people in this book. My goal in life is to be a stronger as a person not let little things hurt me. I try very hard to get out of my “shell” and have courage to face the world without any fear. To achieve this, I have to interact with other people and break my shell and be comfortable with it. In this book, it says: “In fact, social anxiety typically shows up before the age of twenty, often during the teenage years”(Markway 19)., it makes me feel so much better that I'm not the only teenager that is shy, and it motivates me to actually be less shy. This was the most inspiring sentence, when reading that sentence the first time gave me hope, the book does not beguile you.

The book has two parts to it, where it talks about social anxiety and the methods to over come it. Along with it are appendix's that have tips, recognizing anxiety, and websites that can be useful. Each chapter is a step to overcoming shyness. The beginning of the book talks about anxiety itself, which is linked throughout the book which in other chapters and the last chapter give helpful methods to get rid of the anxiety. The strength of this book is that when you read it you feel as if you can get rid of all your trepidation. I don't find any weaknesses in the book except that it doesn't encourage people enough to be intrepid and try hard enough to be less shy. The connotation in “Change leads us to new territory, causing us to rethink who we are and what we believe”(Markway 80). Instead of using “unknown territory” the authors could have used “something new” or “something different” for a better understanding of what change meant. In the sentence “unknown territory” is just a new “place” people haven't been too or a change in perspective.

There are several methods to help people out of anxiety. However, the small facts were more interesting and even more helpful. The methods found in this book is also similar to the how in the Art of War has methods, the only difference is that in the book, it is giving methods to help people with shyness and the Article is giving methods to destroy your enemy. One method in the book Painfully Shy is writing down how you feel when you're anxious and picking a number between one to ten to rate how anxious your feeling. Along with that, you ask yourself questions, such as “Do I have evidence that it is true?”, “Does it really matter about what people say or does it matter at all?”, or “Is it the end of the world?”. With this it helps people calm down and feel better and lower their anxiety levels. Another method is the relaxation training which has six stages that help reduce anxiety. One of stages are progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) where the person tighten the muscles throughout the body to make the body feel relaxed. Also, there is a stage that people tell themselves to calm down and relax their bodies and only concentrate on their breathing for a short period of time. A fact that breathing through the mouth has a possibility to increase hyperventilation, which why it is preferred that you inhale and exhale through nose and breathing from the diaphragm; which is healthier breathing.

This book is really helpful for people who are really shy. I do recommend this to others too not just shy people, so they can understand shy reticent people and what abase them. I would love to read the other books by these authors because it is a book you can read and take full advantage of it and use it life, the . This book is a real shell breaker and it gives people to face their fears.

Painfully Shy
By Barbara G. Markway, Ph.D and Gregory P. Markway, Ph.D

It may feel your the only person who is shy, but there are several Americans that are shy. Shyness can lead to several mental disruptions such as depression.I think this book i helpful in making people not feel alone. The questionaires also help determine what shyness is causing people to become. The theme is that your not alone who faces the same problem. It is trying to remove the trepidation inside these people.
